About Bill Maris and Julie Semel-Maris

Bill Maris was a prominent architectural photographer who worked extensively in the 1970s and 80s. He photographed diverse architectural works such as President Jimmy Carter’s Cabin and the Museum of Natural History subway station in New York City, as well as works by architectural firms such as Gwathmey and Siegel, Bruce Arneill, Alfredo DeVido, and Norman Jaffe. His work appeared in publications such as American Home Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful, and Playboy. He often collaborated with his wife and partner Julie Semel/Maris.
